Guy has represented Milford Haven East Ward on the Town Council since June 2008 and was also elected to the County Council
in May 2012. He is the Mayor of Milford Haven 2012-13.
Guy is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee; Standing Orders Sub-Committee; and the Council’s Town
Regeneration Working Group. As Mayor, he also sits on the Planning & Public Works Committee; Public Events Committee; and
the Christmas Lights & Festivities Committee.
Always keen to become involved with as many activities as he can both within the East Ward and the town generally, Guy is Chair
of the Milford Haven Regeneration Group; Chair of the Board of Governors for Milford Haven Junior School; Chair of the Board of
Trustees of the Priory Project Ltd and Chair of the Milford Haven Fair Trade Steering Group. He is also Secretary of the Mount
Community Association and Secretary of the Milford Haven Fishing Industry Memorial Group. Guy is also a member of the Milford
Haven Business Circle and Milford Haven Music Festival Committee.
Born in 1968, Guy is proud to represent the East Ward having lived most of his childhood and teenage years in Hilton Avenue. In
2007, after almost 20 years living and working away, he returned to Milford Haven and the East Ward now living in Coombs Drive
with his civil partner, Colin and Jack Russell terrier, Fizz.
After leaving Milford Haven Grammar School in 1987, Guy went on to study at Anglia College of Higher Education where he
graduated with a degree in Law. He subsequently went to the College of Law in York to study for the Law Society Finals before
commencing work for the North Yorkshire & Cleveland Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) preparing cases for prosecution in the
magistrates’ courts.
In 1993, Guy transferred on promotion to West Midlands CPS where he was a Law Clerk preparing cases for and representing the
CPS at the Crown Court sitting in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry.
In 1994, a further transfer within CPS took Guy to London. Here he prepared cases for prosecution at Southwark Crown Court
before moving into a management role as Administrative Team Leader for the Bow Street Branch of CPS London.
In 1996, he became the Head of Administration for the newly created CPS Inspectorate initially based at CPS HQ and
subsequently as an independent organisation under the Treasury Solicitor’s Department.
In 2003, Guy returned to CPS HQ where he joined the Policy Directorate. While here, he secured the Directorate’s Investor in
People (IiP) re-accreditation, undertook the role of Operations Manager and became a PRINCE2 qualified Senior Project Manager
co-ordinating a number of significant projects. In 2007, Guy joined the Ministry of Justice as Local Delivery Adviser for the South
West of England Local Criminal Justice Boards.
In November 2011, Guy chose a change in career, leaving the Civil Service to join the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven as General
Manager.
He is also studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) post-graduate degree with the Open University Business
School and is due to graduate next year.
A priority for Guy over the coming year is to promote the positive aspects of living and working in Milford Haven and to encourage
more people to take an active interest in local issues which will hopefully lead to positive changes for the people and town of
Milford Haven.
