Pum House Water Street Pembroke Dock

3. PUMP HOUSE

The pleasant and somewhat unusual little red bricked building stands prominently in the centre of the traffic island leading to Western Way. It was built to pump sewage from the eastern part of the town to the Carr Rock outlet on the western side of the Dockyard. In a way it is a monumental testimony to the skills of the men who engineered the scheme that when completed it was found that the pump house wasn't needed.
