FURTHER EDUCATION CENTRE Pembroke Dock

26. FURTHER EDUCATION CENTRE
Supposedly because of dissension due to the influence of the Church in the National School, the Meyrick Street 'Old British School' was founded. In 1901 the 'Old British School' was demolished and in 1904 it was replaced by the 'Coronation Boys School'. The building was until late 2006 the Further Education Centre and was a venue for a variety of social and cultural activities. it is now available for redevelopment into Accomadation (early 2007 latest) Well worth seeing were the two murals depicting Pembroke Dock's historic heritage, inspired and painted by Mr George Lewis with the help of his students. This exhibit is awaiting a new venue, but part of it can be seen at the Royal Dockyard Entrance
