PEMBROKE DOCK
MEMORIAL PARK.
A Sub Committee of the Town
Council has been working with Pembrokeshire County Council to make
improvements in the Pembroke Dock Memorial Park. Following the Public
Meeting held in March last year the Committee has been able to make some
progress in its aim to make the area more attractive for residents and
visitors to use. Those using the park will have noted that in recent
months new picnic tables have been provided as well as some new seats
and litter bins. In addition the area near to the Tennis Courts has been
tidied up.
The Town Council now wish to
take the matter further and following discussions with interested
parties it is proposed to form a group called “The Friends of the
Pembroke Dock Memorial Park”. This group will help fund raise for
further improvements in the Park in conjunction with the County Council
who are responsible for the Park’s day to day maintenance. To this
end a public meeting has been called to be held on Friday 14th
March 2008 at 1030am in the Warrior Room, Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock
when those who wish to be associated with this project can become a
Friend. Those wishing to be Friends will then approve a Constitution and
elect a Committee.
The Town Council are keen that
anyone interested attends the meeting so that the next stage in the
Park’s future can be mapped out. Those who wish to become a Friend but
who are unable to attend the meeting should contact the Town Council
Offices (01646 684410) when a membership application form can be
forwarded to them for completion.
