Councillor Doug King announces his retirement

 

 

    Councillor Doug King serving the central ward has just announced his retirement due to ill health.  In the short time he has been on the council he has thrown himself in to the nuts and bolts of council business with relish.  He served on the planning committee which met regularly and also the consultation committee which has to plough through a host of long documents which county council and the assembly government sends to the town council in order to get grass roots opinions back.  It was something of a thankless task which required many hours of reading these documents but he took on the task willingly.  He also attended the police consultation meetings and made a point of always pressing the council’s opinions and reported back diligently.  Thanks for your time and effort Doug!
