Civic Awards 2009  The following awards were made on Wednesday 6th May 2009:-

 

 

 

Individual Awards:-

 

 

Mr Rod Jones – for his work with the Haven Credit Union, Llanion Communities First, St. Teilo’s Church and Hall, Pembroke Dock RFC and Pembroke Male Voice Choir. Mr Jones is a committed volunteer and has helped raise funds for various charitable and sporting activities.


 

 

Mrs Pat Jones – for her work as a Volunteer with the Haven Credit Union, as a member of Llanion Communities First, The Carew Benefice Mothers Union, St. Teilos Church and the re-generation of St. Teilos Church Hall.


 

 

Mrs Jennifer F Foster – for her work as a respite carer for Barnardos from 1977 to date, as a Cub Scout Leader with the 1st Pembroke haven Scouts from 1992 to date and for her work with the Meal on Wheels scheme.


 

 

Mr David H Grainger – for his work for over 30 years with the Tall Ships Youth Trust and its predecessor charity the Sail Training Association. David has been Committee Member /Chairman / President of the local Pembrokeshire Branch which has helped a large number of young people from Pembrokeshire to spend up to 10 days aboard a Tall Ship. He was also the Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 1991 Tall Ships races in Milford Haven as well as currently being the Chairman of the Tall Ships (Wales) charity which is supporting SeaFair Haven events in the Haven, the next event to be held in 2010. He is also currently President of the Pembroke Rotary Club which has raised sums of money locally for charities in the UK and world wide.


 

 

Mrs Sarah Fletcher – for her work as Secretary of the Pembroke Dock Civic Society, a Director and Volunteer with the Pembroke Dock Museum Trust, as Secretary and Volunteer with Cleddau FM, as a Volunteer with the Pembroke Dock Food Co-op and Pembroke Dock Festival Group


 

 

Group Awards

 

 

Haven Credit Union – For the work they do with residents of the town and Pembrokeshire to provide affordable loans and to encourage savings. This is a valuable service for the Community.

 

 


 

Pembroke Dock Festival Group – For the work they have done over the past three years to re-invigorate the Summer Festival and to help in the arrival of Father Christmas events in December. Their work has helped renew the enthusiasm of these events.
